Payday is coming !

I want to lay out a small foundation of where your abiding place is with God. It’s a place that’s the hardest to achieve because we have an enemy that uses situations, circumstances and people. This is something that I’ve been studying for about a month and I have only gotten a very small fraction of what it is that I’m supposed to learn. One day I am in hopes of really building this into a Bible study in the future. There is still so much more that I need to learn before I can share it with you, but at least I wanted to share a brief amount of wisdom that I’ve gotten from God thus far.

The abiding place for us in the Lord is a place called rest.

I am believing for something very specific and it’s not relevant for me to share with you what it is because I know that you’re just like me, that you’re believing for something and I don’t want you to get into a place of comparison. I just want you to focus on what you are believing for and what you need.

The Lord came to me earlier this year and challenged me to believe for something. And I’ve been on a journey since January that has been faith building, strengthening and renewing me. It’s been a place where I’ve literally received a resurrection of the woman that I used to be and the good news is that I’m going to accomplish more now than I did back then. You see what I’m believing for is something that I prayed very specifically for soon after I was called into ministry. I was a bold crazy woman of faith and I prayed for the miraculous to happen in my ministry and I dared God to show me things that were impossible! They were things that only I have ever heard of, not seen. You see I prayed such a daring prayer and I thought that the manifestation of that prayer would be through someone that I did not know, perhaps someone in one of my meetings. I had no idea that my prayer will be answered so close to me. My journey is difficult, but I believe not only am I getting a renewing in my faith, but I’m getting new territory of authority to actually walk out and be the living words of Jesus, that we would do greater things than him!!! Those were Jesus’s words to his children that greater works would we do, oh but let me tell you to see the miraculous, it will completely take you out of your comfort zone. You see if I’m believing for a miracle that means that things are definitely out of sort or I would not need A miracle. I had no idea the cup that I would drink praying this prayer but let me tell you the journey is difficult, it is and gut wrenching, but the reward is so great!!!

Why do I have to study rest? Because not only is rest the abiding place with God, but it’s also the place of manifestation. This is the place that you need to remain to see the miraculous and I believe that I have been put through this journey to help you see and to receive your manifestation. I’m going to remind you we are only scratching the surface, but I believe what I’m sharing with you today is going to be a kick starter to help you.

Our foundation scripture is found in Hebrews 4:3
For those having believed enter into the rest. As he has said, “so I swore on my wrath they shall not enter into my rest” and yet the works have been finished from the foundation of the world.

So we see here in the book of Hebrews, that we have a part as it relates to the scripture. It is up to us to enter into rest. In fact you can see God saying here that he swore on his wrath that people did not enter into his rest because they did not believe. Believe in what? The finished work of Christ that has been laid since the very foundation of the world. So if we are going to enter into rest we have to believe. We have to believe in the finished work of Christ, in other words when he died and he took sin upon himself, and when he says it was finished that meant all of his works were done. That means that your healing is finished, that means that your deliverance is finished, it’s already done, that means that your prosperity is finished, etc. and you have to do your part and enter into that place of rest which is believing that what you need or what you’re expecting has already been done for you. And if you don’t believe as the writer says here in Hebrews, you will not enter in to that place of rest.

So if you’re going to enter into that place of rest I need to warn you that the enemy will put up a great fight for you to be in rest. Because he knows that if you get into that place of rest that means that you will see the manifestations of the finished work of Christ. He cannot take those things that were promised to you away from you. What he can do is he can keep you from getting there by using situations, circumstances. trials and people to get you into a place of doubt, so that you will not enter into that place of rest.

Moving along we see in Hebrews 10:35:
So do not throw away your confidence, because it has a great reward.
Another version:
cast not away therefore your confidence, which has a great recompense of reward.

Again we have a part as it relates to this scripture. We see that it’s our responsibility to enter into rest, which is our belief and having confidence in the finished work of Christ. We can also see here in Hebrews 10 that we can cast away OR that we can throw away our confidence. That Hebrew word for confidence means security, so we can throw away our security by unbelief. And the writer is saying don’t throw it away, don’t castaway your security which is the confidence in God’s promise of the finished work of Christ because it has a great reward. And for you to get that great reward which is the manifestation that you’re believing for you have to be in the place of rest.

I’m still trying to lay a foundation here we go down a little bit further in Hebrews chapter 4:11
Therefore let us labor to enter that rest, so that no one will fall by following the same example of disobedience of those who died in the wilderness.
So we see here that the writer in Hebrews is telling us to labor to enter that rest, in other words that’s a work or that’s a due diligence on our part that we need to enter into that place of rest so that we don’t fall from grace and lose the reward that we are expecting. Here we see the Lord is even calling it disobedience. And is our example of the Israelites that wandered in the wilderness for over 40 years because they would not believe God at his word and therefore; they could not enter into the promised land. We want to inherit all the promises that God has for us so we see what not to do and that’s just take him at his word and believe him have security and what he says and labor to get into rest. When fear or doubt or unbelief knocks on the door because they will, you have got to immediately get back into that place of rest. You have to become mindful when the enemy is using his ways to distract you to use people to hurt you to get you out of that place of rest. He cannot take the manifestation away from you but he can distract you along the way to get you in a place of upset and care and hurt and anger and worry so you will lose that place of rest.

What does recompense or reward mean? It simply means that payday is coming, that compensation is coming, it means that what hasn’t happened that was supposed to happen will happen. I need pay day to show up and I’m in a great fight because the enemy wants to take the reward and he cannot take this new territory from me he may distract me he may scare me he may try to get me upset but I will labor to get back into rest.

Everything that you need is in the finished work of Christ and just like sitting in a chair you have got to have confidence that that chair you have to have confidence that that word is going to sustain you it’s going to hold you up it’s going to strengthen you and it’s going to produce what you have inherited.

I don’t know what you’re believing for, but first begin to ask yourself, ‘do I have confidence or do I have security and what I’m believing for? If you don’t that’s OK because I didn’t either. And here’s a progression of a faith walk that may help you. Begin to start praying for God to help you believe for what’s already been promised to you. You may even go on a fast and pray for God to download his wisdom and to help you with your belief. Find scriptures that line up with what you’re believing for. Meditate on those scriptures, which means to rehearse them or repeat them over and over again in your mind and even write them down and when you get into doubt pull that out and read those scriptures. You may even be like me where you had to go to bed most nights and meditate on scripture over and over and over again until I fell asleep. Lastly, find somebody who agrees with you who will pray with you and believe for you because there is power in agreement. The word says that were two or more are gathered in his name but he is in our midst, it also says that one person puts 1000 angels to flight and two put 10,000 to flight. And when doubt and fear knock at the door, you say no and you labor to get back into that rest. The enemy is going to fight you because he doesn’t want you to see the finished work of Christ manifested in your life. So as you are in a fight don’t ever forget that you have more for you than against you.

The word says in
2 Kings 6
Do not be afraid the profit answered, those who are with us are more than those who are with them.
hat means that the enemy is against you but we have more angels we have more power you have more available to you through God then the enemy has against you. Don’t ever forget that.

I also need to help you understand that your manifestation could happen overnight or your manifestation can take some time do not get discouraged based on timing because just because it takes a while doesn’t mean that you will not see the promises that God has already laid out for you. So if you find yourself getting discouraged or getting weary, just labor to get back into that place of rest and declare that you will see the finished works of Christ in your life, you will see that manifestation and you will see your reward. And your reward will be your testimony and that testimony will help somebody else get the promises of God in their life. BTW, I am being attacked as I am writing this by the enemy…..but I keep moving forward because the enemy is trying to stop me from sharing God’s wisdom because he comes to steal, kill and destroy, but greater is HE who is in me than he who is in the world! AMEN!

Path to a Miracle

Then the Lord spoke his word to Elijah, ‘Go to Zarephath in Sidon and live there. I have commanded a widow there to take care of you.’ So Elijah went to Zarephath” (1 Kings 17:8-10a NCV).

When you’re scared to death and vulnerable, you don’t know where you’re going, you don’t know how long it’s going to take, and you don’t know what’s going to happen when you get there, what do you do?

You remember that the path to a miracle often goes through uncomfortable territory.

The Bible gives an illustration in 1 Kings 17:8-10: “Then the Lord spoke his word to Elijah, ‘Go to Zarephath in Sidon and live there. I have commanded a widow there to take care of you.’ So Elijah went to Zarephath”.

God told Elijah to walk more than 100 miles during a drought through dangerous territory, where everyone knew who he was and that King Ahab had a price on his head. When Elijah finally made it to Zarephath, he met a poor widow who was going to feed him. But how could she help defend or protect him from a pagan town full of people who wouldn’t hesitate to kill him?

Miracles don’t happen when things are comfortable. Miracles happen when things are uncomfortable. Elijah didn’t say, “God, there are three things wrong with this plan. One, you’re sending me in the wrong direction. Two, you’re sending me to the wrong location. And three, you’re sending me to the wrong protection.”

Elijah just obeyed.

God’s path to a miracle often takes us through uncomfortable territory because it forces us to depend on him.

For instance:

When Moses led the Israelites out of slavery to the Promised Land, they had to go through the Red Sea first.
Before David could slay Goliath, he had to walk onto the battlefield.
God told Jehoshaphat to put the choir before the army, and he’d win the victory. How much faith do you think that took?
Miracles never happen in your comfort zone, when everything’s great and convenient. You don’t need a miracle when everything is settled in your life. You only need a miracle when you’re on the edge, when you’re scared to death, when you’re insecure, when you can get hit at any angle.

Are you at a place right now in your life where things are a little uncomfortable — financially, emotionally, relationally, or physically? You’re a little nervous, a little on the edge, a little insecure.

Just like Elijah, God wants you to obey so you can see his miracle at the end of the road.

Leaving a Legacy of a ‘different spirit’

Ladies RULE (raising up leaders everywhere)

This ministry exists because of an urgent call to action to develop leaders. Our economy is growing more and more uncertain and our society is eliminating God and we need to empower women in these desperate times. We believe while we may not be able to change the world, we can develop difference makers. Our mission is to raise up women who will carry on a legacy of future leaders.
> Why is it so important to leave a great legacy ?
Today I have given you the choice between life and death, between blessings and curses. Now I call on heaven and earth to witness the choice you make. Oh, that you would choose life, so that you and your descendants might live! Deuteronomy 30:19

The LORD is slow to anger, abounding in love and forgiving sin and rebellion. Yet he does not leave the guilty unpunished; he punishes the children for the sin of the parents to the third and fourth generation.
Numbers 14:18

It is very clear that our decisions affect our legacy, either positive or negative. It’s so important to choose life. The Hebrew word for life is not in the context of literally living or dying, it means life giving. And the Hebrew word for live means sustenance, which means something that provides strength. So let me present it in its original language:

I set before you life and death, choose a life-giving decision so that your descendants may have strength!

The type of legacy that we want to develop is one of Joshua and Caleb. But because my servant Caleb has a different spirit and follows me wholeheartedly, I will bring him into the land he went to, and his descendants will inherit it. Numbers 14:24

Notice in this particular passage God is speaking of legacy and what he wanted it to look like. The different spirit is one that follows God wholeheartedly. Second, it’s a spirit of a warrior. After God rescued the children of Israel from slavery and he already had a promise in mind. However, the children of Israel had to go in and possess a land that already had inhabitants (enemy) in the land. So is our life today, God has great promises for us, but we must take possession of those promises and fight the enemy right and not look at our weakness, We seemed like grasshoppers in our own eyes, and we looked the same to them……we know who we are in Christ and we look to him for strength!

God sent the top leaders of all the tribes to go in and spy out the land. Only 2 of the 12 leaders came back with a different report. They observed the land was just what God had promised, it was truly a land flowing with milk and honey. However, there were giants in the land – this is what the ‘different spirit’ believed!

Then Caleb silenced the people before Moses and said, “We should go up and take possession of the land, for we can certainly do it!

What are we in a fight for? Relationships, health, career, reaching the lost, marriages, raising our children and our identity in Christ so we can carry out our divine assignments

So our legacy is one of followers and will take action and possess through God, no matter how overwhelming it may seem. They will not follow the ‘majority’, but will stand out in the crowd, not look at their weakness and declare that they can certainly do it!!

Re-frame your world

Last week I had a speaking engagement and was asked to deliver a message on declaring. I began to pray for God’s wisdom concerning this topic and this was my discovery. He reminded me of the first teaching that He downloaded in me which was ‘the power of our words’. I remembered in that teaching I first quoted Genesis 1.

The Beginning

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. 2 Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters.
3 And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. 4 God saw that the light was good, and he separated the light from the darkness.5 God called the light “day,” and the darkness he called “night.” And there was evening, and there was morning—the first day.

This was the ‘first’ thing that God did. He spoke our world into existence. The Hebrew definition for darkness is chaos and when God spoke, he was putting something out of order into order. He was framing his (our) world with his words. I looked up the Hebrew word and definition of…. And God ‘said’. The Hebrew word is Davar and the definition of Davar literally means to declare!!!

In Genesis 1:26 ‘God said let us make man in our image according to our likeness and let them roll over the fish of the sea over the birds of the sky and over the cattle and over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth. God created man in his own image in the image of God he created him male and female he created them.’
So if we are created in God’s image we are endowed with power to be able to be just like God. The word image means a likeness so we would imitate or do the same as God.

As imitators of Christ or being in the image of God we are to frame our world as well. So when we declare it’s more than just prayer we are literally speaking something into existence. Remember at the first day the world was dark and void, it was in chaos OR out of order…..God was hovering over the surface, he was attentive and aware of the chaos. The word says that he watches over his word to perform it. In other words he does not take his eyes off the chaos until it’s in order! If we operate in the Kingdom, nothing is possible and our circumstances have the chance to change, but it starts with you.

If you are like me, you want to change a lot of things your world. One thing that I am starting to see change in is my destiny. I have been derailed for a number of years by distractions of many kinds. It’s a strategy of the enemy to get us off focus. Doors are starting to open up for me this year and hopefully soon I will be walking in the fullness of the plan that God has for me. Let me give you an example of something that I declare as it relates to my ministry.

I declare it’s not too late to accomplish everything that God has placed in my heart. I have NOT missed my window of opportunity. God has moments of favor in my future. He is preparing me right now because he’s about to release a special grace to accomplish that dream. This is my time. This is my moment.

My addition…. I decree and declare that I will receive a supernatural acceleration and I will accomplish in 5 years what took others over 10 years.

If you want something to change in your life, begin using the power that you are endowed with and imitate God, afterall, he re-framed his world and we must do the same thing, we are in his image. Hover over your circumstances, give nurturing attention to it and speak life into your situation. Never ever give up and wait for the manifestation. Don’t speak negatively over it in your frustration or discouragement. One day you will be like God and see what you spoke and you will say that it is good!!

God loves you!!!

Love casts out fear in relationships

When people say that in relationships, it’s often a sign that somebody’s trying to control somebody else. What’s beneath that control? It’s fear. Insecurity causes us to try to control others or resist the control of others. When you’re so insecure that all you think about is what others think of you, it destroys your relationships and disables your life.

It’s an amazing dilemma we have as human beings: We long to be close, but we also fear being close. We long to have intimacy with others, but we’re also scared to death of it.

Insecurity prevents intimacy and destroys your relationships. You can’t get close to somebody if there’s fear in the relationship. If insecurity destroys relationships, then what builds them? Love! Love builds relationships.

The Bible says in 1 John 4:18, “Love has no fear, because perfect love expels all fear. If we are afraid, it … shows that we have not fully experienced his perfect love” (NLT, second edition). How does that work? How does love expel all fear?

Love takes the focus off of you and puts the focus on others. I get the focus off of me and focus on the people in front of me instead. If I stood there thinking about what they thought of my hairstyle, I would have something to be afraid of, right? But the minute I start thinking about how much I love my church family and how we serve God together, all of a sudden the fear is gone. It’s the same in any relationship. Focusing on the other person gives you the power to throw fear out of your life.

So how do you find that power to focus on other people? You realize how much God loves you. The moment you begin to understand how much God loves you, you don’t have to prove yourself any more. You don’t have to spend your life trying to impress other people, because you already know that God loves you.

Do you know how freeing and enjoyable it is to live life that way? Your identity and self-worth are not caught up in what others might think of you. When you’re secure in your relationship with Christ, you’re no longer pressured by everybody else’s expectations. God’s love frees you to love others fearlessly.

What insecurities or fears keep you from opening your life and heart to someone, whether it’s a friend, spouse, or family member?
How does our culture keep us insecure in our relationships?
What do you think God believes about you? What does he see when he looks at you?

Marriage is meant for connection

In God’s plan men and women need each other” (1 Corinthians 11:11 TLB).

Marriage doesn’t solve your problems. Marriage does not create your problems. Marriage reveals problems. It simply magnifies what was already a problem when you were living as a single adult.

There are a lot of things marriage can’t do, but it does have a God-designed function. So why did God design marriage?

God created marriage for the connection of men and women.

The Bible says in 1 Corinthians 11:11, “In God’s plan men and women need each other” (TLB).

Whether or not you get married, if you’re a woman, you need men in your life. If you’re a man, you need women in your life. Why? Because nobody holds the full image of God. Women get part of it, men get part of it, and we need each other. God wired it this way. God thought up gender. God thought up sex. And God thought up marriage. What a God!

Did you ever wonder why God made man and then woman a little bit later? Why didn’t he make them both at the same time?

I think he did it for Adam’s benefit. I think he wanted Adam to realize how much he needed women in his life.

Genesis 2:18 says, “It isn’t good for man to be alone; I will make a companion for him.”

You need companions in all different areas of your life. But there is nothing like the companionship of a marriage. It is in a relational class all by itself.

Here’s what Jesus had to say about it: “‘God made them male and female’ from the beginning of creation. This explains why a man leaves his father and mother and is joined to his wife, and the two are united into one. Since they are no longer two but one, let no one split apart what God has joined together” (Mark 10:6-9 NLT, second edition).

That passage makes three major points about marriage:

Marriage is God’s plan. It’s not a tradition we can just throw out.
Marriage is between a man and a woman. Their body parts fit together for a purpose — the creation of everybody else.
Marriage is to be permanent. It’s meant to be for life.
Do you realize how radical those three statements are? It seems like most people don’t believe those statements any more. But it’s still the truth! It’s still the way God designed marriage. And just because we live in the real, not necessarily the ideal, doesn’t mean we get to say the ideal doesn’t exist.

The gift of loss

Every good and perfect gift comes from above. James 1:17

Oh how loss can be an amazing gift. Wrapped in paper that is certainly not pretty, lacking is it’s matching ribbon and a large bow. In fact, when you have ripped off the paper and with anticipation believing that there must be a wonderful gift inside despite the wrapping. You are shocked, disappointed and in pain as you see what the giver has thought so much to give you. Who would give such a gift is what you think as tears flow down your face?

I recently heard a pastor say that the blessing is ready for you, but are you ready for the blessing?

Oh how that is so true! Here I have been trying to hurry God, help him out, as if he needs help, getting angry and finally threatening to give up. Getting us ready is a process and it cannot be mircrowaved. It takes time, more like a crock pot. We don’t like to wait and go through the process, but how much better prepared is the food that has had time to simmer and develop a flavor that is what one would crave. That is who you and I are supposed to be, the salt of the earth. We are to live a life for many witnesses to desire and crave.

At first, it’s not recognized as a gift. What is it and what does it look like?

A loved one with a terminal illness; Miscarriage; Getting let go from your job; Near fatal car accident; Having to file bankruptcy; Broken engagement; Legal separation; Being alone on the holidays; or Being deceived by a spiritual leader.

This amazing gift comes in many different circumstances and situations. I have received some of these amazing gifts. It has taken time, trust and maturity to appreciate them. These gifts have been part of my process preparing me for the blessings that God has promised me.

I may not immediately appreciate the gift but as time goes on and I trust God that every good and perfect gift comes from him I can get through the processes without delay and on time. If I don’t see something as a gift then I resent it and complain and I’m angry and it will take longer to reach my destination.

The power in a gift of loss is that once you lose something you learn to appreciate what has been lost. For instance I used to live in a really nice studio apartment and I just had to have it. I believe God gave me the desire of my heart. Three days before I moved in my car was towed right in front of my building. I complained constantly to my apartments that there was never enough parking and I did not know that before I moved in. I complained about my neighbors next to me because I lived next to a three bedroom apartment there was never less then five people living next to me and as you can imagine it was very loud. I complained that my dishwasher had to be fixed three times. I constantly complained about my apartment being either too cold or too hot – because it was a studio it didn’t have a heating or cooling unit large enough to support the square footage. I complained about much more. The bottom line is is that this apartment was so lovely and God gave it to me and I should have appreciated it and found solutions for everything that I saw wrong about it or I should’ve just chosen to see it for what it was that it was an amazing gift. I ended up losing that place and I felt like the reason why I lost it was because I cursed God indirectly because I constantly griped and complained about my home that was given to me. Let me tell you I will be so appreciative for my next home and I will not have the same attitude I had before. Again you don’t understand the value of something until you lose it.

I learned a great lesson with my apartment and God began showing me that I complained about everything. It seemed like I found something wrong with everything that was in my life and God began to show me that if he were to expand my ministry that I would complain perhaps about my schedule or about how tired I was I would find something wrong with it.

The true treasure of our losses is that we can’t take certain mindsets, habits and patterns into our future. If you’re praying for a new job, you cannot take your old work habits into the new position. If you’ve had a divorce or are legally separated or perhaps like me of had a broken engagement, we are all contributors in that loss, it’s just as much our fault as it is their fault and it’s not always what we did do sometimes it’s the things that we didn’t do. Through my experiences I have learned that no one is perfect and not every relationship is perfect and so when I decide to settle down and be with my life partner there are going to be things about that partner that will irritate me but I will choose to see them as a good gift from God and not complain about them not to look for the bad or the wrong or the difference in them. I will choose to celebrate them and be grateful for them.

I have also learned that if I look for something negative I will find it so I choose now to not even look for it, I intentionally choose to look for the positive. Whatever you focus on, you make bigger. That is how bitterness and resentment escalate is because you constantly think about how bad it is.

I have a parent with a very serious illness and while this is been devastating it has really opened my eyes and it is taught me what is most important in life. Sure it’s nice to have things like homes, cars, an important position with a particular company, however, I have learned that the most important things in life are God and the people that he puts in my life. Some people would only hope for a promotion while I’m just hoping my mother lives another day it’s all about perspective. Don’t misunderstand me there’s nothing wrong with wanting a promotion but those things have become secondary to me, life is more important.

Whether you have experienced loss that was within your control or out of your control nothing goes to waste and God will use it to benefit you…. you may not see it now, but in time you will.

God’s desire is for you to have everything in your life that he has planned for you and in order for you to have those things you have to go through your process. To navigate successfully through your process and getting the treasures and riches that God has in your journey while he is preparing you for your blessing you must have a paradigm shift. The first important step is to trust God and choose to see that whatever has happened or whatever is going on in your life that it is for your benefit and it’s a good gift. I now begin to say Lord I don’t understand, but I know that you’re good and that you have a good plan for me so help me see your beauty in this situation… God is so faithful he will begin to show you in time. Second you must take ownership and stop blaming others and definitely stop blaming God. Began to ask the questions that he loves to hear from us such as, what are the lessons here that you want me to learn? What was my part? Then ask for forgiveness and repent which means to completely change your mind about the past, see it for what it was, that it was either wrong or things could’ve been done differently such as better. This is how you get through your process and this is how you get ready for your blessing instead of expecting your blessing to get ready for you. You will live a much more fulfilling life if you choose to see everything in your life as a good and perfect gift.
